Graphic Content: Morton Feldman & Earle Brown at 100 is a citywide festival celebrating the centennial birthdays of two of the most influential figures of the New York School. The festival's title is a play on words: while it evokes the avant-garde nature of their music, it also references their pioneering explorations of graphic notation—a revolutionary approach to musical notation that challenged convention and reoriented the framework for interpretation and performance.
Through a series of concerts, collaborations, and interdisciplinary events, the festival explores the enduring impact of Feldman and Brown's radical approaches to form, notation, indeterminacy, and listening. Bringing together performers from across contemporary classical, experimental, improvised, and interdisciplinary artistic communities, Graphic Content offers a rare opportunity to experience landmark works alongside new creations inspired by their legacy.
