KATHLEEN CANTRELL Continually praised for her angelic pure tone, vocal dexterity, and scholarship, Manhattan soprano Kathleen Cantrell is actively sought out as a soloist by ensembles in New York and abroad. She currently sings at St. Michael's Episcopal Church where she is first soprano with the professional choral octet, and performs regularly with the GHOSTLIGHT chorus. Kathleen also sings with The Teares of the Muses, NYU’s viola da gamba consort, and can be heard on three recordings with the ensemble. She has appeared with Central City Chorus, Apollo's Fire, the Choral Arts Society of Louisville, the Louisville Bach Society, and many ensembles around the region. Kathleen’s most recent stage appearance was in the St. Michael’s Opera production of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” singing the role of The Queen of the Night. Kathleen holds a Master of Arts degree in Early Music Performance Practices from Case Western Reserve University, and a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from the University of Louisville. Along with her vocal career, she holds certifications from the Library of Congress in Braille Music and Literary Transcription. ANNE LEVITSKY Anne Adele Levitsky is a scholar and soprano living in New York City. She is a graduate of Stanford University and earned her PhD in Historical Musicology from Columbia University in May 2018, where she is currently a Lecturer in Music. As an academic, she is interested in medieval vernacular song, poetry, and narrative literature, which she supplements with a love of performance. She has studied and performed lyric poetry with the Narbonne-based Troubadours Art Ensemble, and recorded troubadour and trouvère songs both with the group and as a soloist. She performs regularly in the New York area with several professional vocal groups, including quartet Fractio Modi and chamber ensemble GHOSTLIGHT Chorus, and sings an eclectic mix of repertoire from the 12th to the 21st centuries (including a June 2013 performance with the Rolling Stones in Washington, DC). Dr. Levitsky has also served as the director of the Collegium Musicum, one of Columbia University's leading choral ensembles.
