Concert Highlights from Last Semester, on YouTube

While I wait for our next concert season to begin (in September), I’ve been enjoying some highlights from last semester’s concerts on YouTube: Marco Jimenez, who just graduated from Columbia College, played a spectacular organ recital; a large team of baroque specialists played the complete “Rosary Sonatas” of Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber in a marathon concert; Gail Archer (director of the music program at Barnard) played a program of Bulgarian music in collaboration with Yasna Voices; Taoufik Ben Amor (Senior Lecturer in Arabic Studies here at Columbia) played “Many Paths to the Divine”; world-renowned santoor player Tarun Bhattacharya played a raga program; and Yashi Li played a selection of Chinese classical and contemporary music on the zheng.
