Dear colleagues,
In preparation of the upcoming holiday of Sukkot, which begins tomorrow after sundown, I am writing to share the many options for those in our community who wish to observe the holiday in a sukkah, or the traditional temporary structure erected for the week-long celebration.
- Hillel has two sukkot at the Kraft Center —one on the 6th floor terrace, and one on the 3rd floor terrace.
- Chabad hosts a sukkah at Chabad House, as well as multiple events on Columbia’s campus in celebration of the holiday.
- Columbia Office of Religious Life will be hosting a sukkah on Fairchild Plaza open to all members of our community and open daily throughout the holiday from 8 am – 8 pm.
- Barnard hosts a sukkah on its campus within close proximity of the kosher dining counter at Hewitt Dining Hall.
We wish all observing a chag sameach,
Ian Rottenberg
Dean of Religious Life
